Weller transformed hand soldering by developing a transformer-based instant heating soldering method in 1941. Prior to this innovation, hand soldering had been practiced for thousands of years, but Weller's invention revolutionized the process by eliminating the need to wait for the soldering gun to heat up. The Weller Manufacturing Company was officially established after WWII, in 1945, and in 1960, they patented the "Magnastat" soldering iron which regulated temperature at the iron's tip using a magnetic component.

Expanding overseas, the Weller GmbH plant in Besigheim, Germany, as well as new plants in other countries, manufactured temperature-controlled irons and soldering guns primarily for industrial markets throughout Europe and the Near East. Weller Germany became the market leader in developing and manufacturing hand soldering products worldwide, proudly emblazoned with the label "Made in Germany" to signify innovation and reliability.

The Weller Therma-Boost Heat Tool is capable of handling a wide variety of jobs, including soldering, cutting, and shaping. The kit includes the heat tool, a stand, 6 multi-use tips, and instructions for use. The tips are designed for soldering, rope and foam cutting, smoothing, and scoring. This versatile tool is made in China and its package dimensions are 7.785" in length, 11.785" in width, and 1.75" in height.
