Weller's Transformation of Hand Soldering

The art of hand soldering has been around for thousands of years, but it was not until 1941 that a transformer-based instant heating soldering method was developed by an impatient American radio repairman, tired of waiting for his soldering gun to heat up. This innovative approach was the work of Carl E. Weller, who had to wait until after World War II ended in 1945 to establish the Weller Manufacturing Company.

In 1960, the Weller Manufacturing Co. in the United States patented the "Magnastat" soldering iron, which used a magnetic component to regulate the temperature at the iron's tip. To expand its reach, the company established the Weller ElektroWerkzeuge GmbH plant in Besigheim, Germany, in 1959, along with new facilities in other countries. These plants were organized to manufacture temperature-controlled irons and soldering guns primarily for industrial markets throughout Europe and the Near East.

Keeping pace with the increasing complexity of their customers' needs, Weller Germany became the market leader in developing and manufacturing hand soldering products worldwide. The company's products were proudly emblazoned with "Made in Germany," signifying innovation and reliability.

One of the company's offerings is the Genuine Weller iron-plated replacement tip for Weller models 8200 and 8200PK soldering guns. This replacement tip is designed to be used with the 8200 and 8200PK models and features the following specifications:

Manufacturer's Part Number: 8125W Type: Narrow Screwdriver For Use With: 8200 Point Size: 0.165 Tip Series: CH Tip Diameter: 11/64

The development of the Weller soldering iron and its subsequent expansion into international markets have been instrumental in transforming the art of hand soldering. The company's commitment to innovation and reliability has made it a trusted name in the industry, with its "Made in Germany" branding representing the pinnacle of quality and performance.
