Hand soldering has been an ancient art for thousands of years, but it wasn't until 1941 that Carl E. Weller, an impatient American radio repairman, developed a transformer-based instant heating soldering method. Tired of waiting for his soldering gun to heat up, Weller founded the Weller Manufacturing Company after World War II. In 1960, the company patented the "Magnastat" soldering iron, which used a magnetic component to regulate the temperature at the iron's tip.

In 1959, Weller GmbH plant in Besigheim, Germany, along with new plants in other countries, was organized to manufacture temperature-controlled irons and soldering guns primarily for industrial markets throughout Europe and the Near East. Weller Germany became the market leader for developing and manufacturing hand soldering products worldwide, proudly emblazoned with "Made in Germany," symbolizing innovation and reliability.

The Weller Pyropen WSTA3 is a lightweight and completely portable soldering iron that's ideal for field service jobs. It doesn't require a cord, batteries, or a charge, and heats up in 30 seconds, with a temperature range from 392°F to 932°F. The sturdy metal tank holds enough gas for three hours of operation, and inactive hot air nozzles for low temperatures are available. The unit is UL listed and made in Japan.

Weller is a leading manufacturer of high-quality tools designed to withstand even the most demanding jobs. The company is internationally renowned for its diverse range of products, all of which have been designed with the requirements of professionals in mind. Trusted, designed, and used by experts, Weller's products are synonymous with innovation and reliability.
